This is a pre-mixed dry glaze, gloss Dark Green. Mid-range, cone 4 to cone 6. Midrange glazes, which are fired using stoneware and porcelain clay, are strong and durable. They are applied onto bisque fired clay and then fired again to produce a matured glaze. Knowledge of the chemistry of glazes is very important to experienced potters, who formulate their own glazes. I used ceramics to fire stoneware and porcelain sculptures, which I never glazed. For many potters, the appearance of a piece of ware is mainly how the glaze looks (and the shape of the pot!), since the majority of pottery is glazed.....(see more)
