Ball clay is widely known among ceramists, and available in many variations. They are very plastic clays having very fine particle sizes. Digital Fire has a list of 72 different ball clays at the end of their article (and says there are hundreds of them). The one in this listing ('Old Mine #4') is a very popular one.
