Pine Valley Ranch Hike

Difficulty: Moderate Location: Pine, Colorado This is a 3 mile, moderate loop hike around and above the beautiful Pine Lake followed by hot cocoa and/or tea on the North Fork of the Platte River. Description: This moderate 3 mile hike will start by walking around Pine Lake. From here, the trail is a steady incline through pine forest, leading to beautiful views of Pike National Forest and the Platte River. You’ll also get views of the extensive Hayman Burn; scars from the fire in 2000. The trail then leads back down to the lake and flat ground. This adventure ends with hot chocolate on the North Fork of the Platte River surrounded by enormous spruce trees and granite cliffs.
