Pyrite Cube on Matrix

Known affectionately in the collecting community as the "gateway mineral", its easy to see why cubic pyrite captivates any audience, but especially new collectors. Its mesmerizing, near-perfect cubic crystals and reflective brassiness may seem unbelievable but they occur naturally just as you see here. They are not cut or polished. They form in a soft, chalky marl matrix that will readily dissolve in water. To clean your specimens, dust lightly with a soft artists brush, use compressed air, or wipe gently with a delicate cloth. *Purchase is for one (1) specimen only and will not be the exact piece in the pictures, but one of similar size and composition. From La Rioja, Spain. The entire matrix measures approximately 1.55 in. x 1.00 in with each cube measuring roughly .50 in. x .50 in.  Each piece weighs approximately 1.5oz.
