Jasper is composed of micro-crystalline quartz that can come in a variety of different colors and textures. This wide color variation is mainly due to impurities and trace elements within the crystalline lattice. For yellow jasper, the trace element that gives it its distinct color is iron. This particular yellow jasper is very high-quality with consistent color and is from South Africa. Our medium material is considered to be sand sized (very coarse sand to fine sand), ranging between 2 millimeters to 0.25 millimeters.
