Crushed Stichtite and Green Serpentine (Atlanisite) Chips from South Africa, Pea-Sized Gravel (2mm-4mm)
Atlantisite is a rare metamorphic rock that consists of a purple mineral, named stichtite, that is intergrown with green serpentine. These metamorphic minerals form near areas where hydrothermal alteration has happened in the Earth's crust. This occurs when heated fluids penetrate the host rock and chemically modify other “host” minerals to produce serpentine and stichtite. This particular crushed Atlantisite is of exceptional quality (Grade A), with an even blend of vivid purple and mossy green hues. This unique mix is definitely reminiscent of a serpent or dragon. Our coarse material is considered to be pea- sized gravel, ranging between 4 millimeters to 2 millimeters. Please see the corresponding sediment size chart.
