Crushed Red Tiger's Eye Chips (Heat-Treated) from South Africa, Pea-Sized Gravel (2mm-4mm)
Tiger's eye is a member of the chalcedony family, exhibiting parallel intergrowths of quartz and altered amphibole. Its defining traits are a silky luster and the captivating cat's eye "chatoyancy", visible in various bands of light and dark golden-browns. This particular tiger's eye was originally golden-brown, but was subsequently heated-treated to approximately 400 degrees Fahrenheit to bring out a dark, earthy-red color. Our coarse material is considered to be pea- sized gravel, ranging between 4 millimeters to 2 millimeters. Please see the corresponding sediment size chart.
