Sunstone is a phenomenal variety of feldspar that exhibits a glittery, metallic flash known as aventurescence or the Schiller effect. This brilliant orange flash is due to preferentially oriented hematite or copper inclusions within the crystal structure. This particular sunstone is from India and is grade A material. Unfortunately, the brilliant orange flash is not preserved when the mineral has been progressively pulverized into tiny pieces. Our medium material is considered to be sand sized (very coarse sand to fine sand), ranging between 2 millimeters to 0.25 millimeters. Please see the corresponding sediment size chart.  Mineral Properties Mohs’s Hardness: 6 Specific Gravity (g/cm3): 2.62 - 2.67 Luster: Vitreous Color: Peach Origin: India This product is not man-made, mixed with resin, dyed, or stabilized. Pictures are taken in full sun and material is dry. Size measurements are using the metric system (millimeters), including the metric ruler (cm/mm) as shown in the product ph
