Aventurine is a type of quartz that has many micaceous minerals (mica) included within its crystalline structure. The most common color of aventurine is green, which indicates that the micaceous inclusions are composed of a green mica called fuchsite. This particular crushed, green aventurine is from India and is slightly translucent to opaque. Our medium material is considered to be sand sized (very coarse sand to fine sand), ranging between 2 millimeters to 0.25 millimeters. Please see the corresponding sediment size chart.
