Crushed Mookaite Chips from Australia, Coarse Crush, Pea-Sized Gravel (2mm-4mm)
Mookaite is named after its place of origin, near Mooka Creek, in Western Australia. Mookaite is ONLY found in this locality and its unique formation makes this rock VERY special. Unlike chalcedony or chert, mookaite is a silicified sedimentary rock that is composed of millions of microscopic skeletons of a particular protozoan, known as radiolaria. Since this rock is biogenic in origin, Mookaite is technically a fossil! Our coarse material is considered to be pea-sized gravel, ranging between 4 millimeters to 2 millimeters.
