Tiger's eye is a member of the chalcedony family, exhibiting parallel intergrowths of quartz and altered amphibole. Its defining traits are a silky luster and the captivating cat's eye "chatoyancy", visible in various bands of light and dark golden-browns. This particular crushed tiger's eye is sourced from South Africa and is rich in color with no impurities. Our medium material is considered to be sand sized (very coarse sand to fine sand), ranging between 2 millimeters to 0.25 millimeters. Please see the corresponding sediment size chart.
