Periwinkle Water Canvas

In February of 2020, I had a crazy illness that ended up being very serious and scary. After I got home from the hospital, I could feel the depression setting in, and my husband did something crazy – he sent me on a girl's trip. The trip had been planned for months and months, and I wasn't going to go, but he made me, and it's the best thing he could have done. My best girlfriends and I traveled to North Captiva Island for Sara's birthday, and it was there, sitting on the sand with my sisters, that I slowly began to heal. Mentally, physically, emotionally, from all the things that had happened in the past months. This painting of the sunset and sea is an homage to those memories of friendship and healing. p.s.
