Dating back to 147 B.C.- 224 A.D. this ancient roman coin is set in sterling silver and hangs on a 22-inch, sterling silver curb link chain. The front of the coin features the symbol of Elymias.  Elymais, also called Elam, was an independent state in Susiana (modern-day Khuzestan, Iran), at the head of the Persian Gulf1. It gained independence from the Seleucids, who had previously ruled the region, around 147 BC2. Near the Persian heartland, Elymais remained a prosperous autonomous kingdom.
