Jonathan's Hot Take Description: This new offering from CMT is one of the top 12" professional thin kerf combination blades on the market for good reason. The carbide teeth are massive compared to similar blades, and it’s amazing at removing minimal material while keeping the cut cool. My combination blade is tied with the general purpose blade as the most used blade in the shop. When I’m bouncing between rip and cross cuts in hard or soft wood, this is the blade I reach for. Because it has 50 teeth that alternate between ATB and TCG, it really excels at getting decent rip and crosscuts in thicker hard or softwoods. If you're cutting a lot of rip or crosscuts, I would go with a dedicated rip or crosscut blade. If you're cutting a lot of plywood, I would go with the 40t general purpose blade, or one of the higher tooth fine finish blades (60t/80t/96t).
