General Nathan Bedford Forrest Murfreesboro TN Relief Plaque by Henryk Winograd
What an exceptionally rare sterling silver relief plaque of Confederate General Nathan Bedford Forest leading his men At Murfreesboro TN. A rare sterling silver relief plaque by Henryk Winograd circa 1996. The plaque features very nice details and some nice patina. Have professionally polished or leave as is. Plaque measures about 4" high and about 3" wide with the rise varying by the design but probably an average of 1". The sterling is mounted to a felt wrapped wood panel for support and strength. Both show some minor wear from age and storage. This is a piece of art, meant to be hung on a wall and displayed. Henryk Winograd was a master Silversmith and considered the preeminent artist in silver smithing techniques in the 20th century. One of his more rare art forms was of American History in repousse style made into plaques. These wonderful works of art are becoming harder to find in the marketplace, especially those related to the American Civil War time period. Don't miss this
