Dunbar Trail 2

Acrylic and oil on canvas, 30 x 24 x .5"  I have spent countless hours running the few trails around where I live. While west Texas is primarily grasses and plains, there are a few patches of trees and rock that all mountain bikers and runners flock to. This painting and its mate "Dunbar Trail 1," bridge the subject matter of trails and landscapes with birds. I have hidden several birds in each painting, but these are more about the environment and location than the birds in them. I can't help but think of the sounds and songs that accompany trail running, and these paintings are the visual equivalent for me. Better pictures coming!
