Feastday: September 2nd Represented as a dominican nun with a cross St Ingrid Elovsdotter was born into the Most noble family in Sweden. She married when she was very young. After her husband died, she went off to found the first dominican monastery of Sweden in Skenninge with her siblings.  After a pilgrimage to Jerusalem and Rome, she joined the monastery in 1281 as prioress. She died in 1282 and was greatly venerated in the Middle Ages in Sweden. Finally, she was then beatified in 1499.
