Big J

After the success of the Plumb hybrid model, I decided to add my twist to another popular historic axe pattern. The Jersey axe. This is the Big Axe version of the pattern.  Just like with the hatchet version, I've flattened out the beard to avoid loss of points due to the axe digging in too deeply. Additionally I made the curvature of the bit much shallower as too much belly is the consistent complaint I get for the Pluot and Peach. Finally, just because I'm a huge fan of the look, I threw some phantom bevels onto the cheeks to give the axe a little more pizzazz. (The bevels don't show up in the rendering for some reason that I can't figure out) The Big J uses a modified Infinity Axes handle design. 1.5 inches instead of 1.25 inches wide. The handle is still held in place by a 1/4 inch roll pin, making replacing a broken handle a breeze.
