
Antique Oak Filing Cabinet with Japanned Hardware
c. 1920s; (likely) The Globe-Wernicke Co. - Cincinnati, OH Antique oak document cabinet. This piece features four drawers of uniform size, each with an interior set of metal rods; these rods would have helped keep items upright or organized within the drawer, preventing them from tipping or shifting around. All of the hardware on this piece is of japanned copper design and boasts the characteristic splotched appearance, though much of this has been lost to time due to repeated use. Exhibits minor signs of wear including scratches, scuffs, and rust (interior).
