In fast-paced Crisis Events the ability to make quick and effective decisions is essential in order to contain risks which, without intervention and effective management, may escalate in severity and create cascading threats to people, business interests, operations, facilities and assets, as well as organizational reputation. In these situations, there is a high likelihood that not all information will be available to the Crisis Management Leadership Team – those senior leadership personnel at the organizational level who come together in order to respond to and manage Crisis Events. The ability to create order out of chaos requires effective planning and nimble decision-making which remains agile and responsive to evolving circumstances and emergent, and often confused, information.
