The 1964 SG™ Standard with Maestro™ Vibrola pays tribute to one of the most iconic SG model years in Gibson history. Originally played by legends like George Harrison and Eric Clapton, the 1964 model year marked the SG’s evolution into the form we now know and love—with refined body bevels, improved hardware, and the official retirement of the “Les Paul” name. In collaboration with Gibson™ Custom, Epiphone proudly presents the most accurate reissue of the 1964 SG Standard to date. This Inspired by Gibson Custom model features a center-seamed 2-piece mahogany body with vintage-correct beveling, a one-piece mahogany neck with a long neck tenon, and a fast yet comfortable 1960s SlimTaper™ neck profile.
