'String of Pearls' is a popular house succulent, with trailing stems covered in pea-shaped leaves. The stems can hang over the pot rim, or be circled back into the soil to re-root. These succulents should be kept in bright but not harsh sunlight indoors. Lack of light will cause broad spacing of pearls across the stems. Water when soil is dry, but do not leave without water for extended periods. The pearls will become softened, and the clear 'window' slot will close when the plant is ready for water. These plants flower in summer, producing white flowers with long, red stamens, often producing a cinnamon-like scent.
