Authentic Pre-Columbian Stirrup-spouted figural (Priest or Dignitary) vessel artifact from the Moche- Chimu Culture of ancient Peru. This artifact dates from the Intermediate Period circa 400-600 A.D. This piece portrays Moche-Chimu male (probably a Dignitary or person of importance). Moche portraiture reached its pinnacle during Phase IV as artists' demonstrated an extraordinary ability to capture the subject's likeness and provide a sense of individual personality. Face shows serene expression and typical pronounced nose often seen in Moche figural artifacts. Vessel shows all appropriate patina, weight, and mineral deposits typical for authentic Pre-Columbian artifact of this Period (400-600 A.D,). In excellent condition approx. 7 9/16 inches in height.
