Description: A beautiful crisp choice extremely fine or much better (almost uncirculated with just a light vertical fold) banknote issued by The National Commercial Bank of Scotland Limited. This is the 16thy September 1959 five pounds Sterling currency note. The banknote is green over a multicolored background on the front and green coloring on the back. The front shows the Scottish arms bottom right of center of the front and the forth railway bridge on the back. The front of the note has the name of the issuing bank, one signature, the date of issue, the denomination and the serial number. The back only shows the name of the issuing bank and the denomination in numerals. This particular note has the serial number E702961. It is signed David Alexander General Manager and is dated 16th September 1959. The banknote has a watermark depicting the bust of a man.
