Robert Weil Kiedricher Riesling Trocken 2022

This "Orstwein" - village wine - is made using grapes pre-selected from the Erste Lage and Grosse Lage vineyards (Grafenberg, Turmberg, and Klosterburg). The medium to deep soil is composed of phyllite interlaced with loess and loam, with steep inclines. The vines are sustainably farmed with no herbicides, pesticides, or chemical fertilizer. The grapes are hadpicked as a selection of ripe fruit that has not been infected with botrytis. The grapes are fermented and matured in stainless stell and then aged in large neutral oak casks. Aromatically this wine is filled with bright citrus notes as well as ripe stone fruits, and petrol. On the palate, the wine has bracing acidity, hints of white flowers, and clean minerality that lingers with the finish. A savory, more weighty element also comes in to play, likely from the used of 1/3 of the wine aging in oak barrels, but it works perfectly with all the other elements to create a fantastically balanced wine, that is outstanding with a pork ch
