[F2F] 2 Day Prepared to Lead: Practical Crisis Planning, Response, and Recovery for Schools
This two-day training equips school-based crisis teams with the knowledge and skills to effectively plan for, respond to, and recover from crises. Designed for multidisciplinary teams, including teachers, mental health professionals, administrators, and support staff; this workshop takes a balanced approach to addressing both physical and psychological safety in schools, with attention to the role of social media in crisis management. Day 1 begins with a focus on proactive planning; guiding participants through refining crisis plans using vulnerability assessments, and developing tailored annexes, including functional (e.g., shelter-in-place, reunification), threat-specific (e.g., fire, active shooter), and support (e.g., memorial guidelines, volunteer coordination) annexes. Participants are encouraged to bring existing plans for review and enhancement. By mid-afternoon, the workshop transitions to crisis response and recovery, introducing foundational concepts, and strategies. Day 2
