Ceramic Bird Necklace

With a combination of traditional warmth and modern simplicity, this handmade ceramic necklace is sure to brighten your day every time you look in the mirror. The cheery little bird could be a wish for peace or a reminder of days in the garden—but we like to think it’s a homing pigeon, pointing the way back to Croatia. Necklaces are made by Janja Šestan Diklić at her home ceramics studio, Doda Keramika. After she sculpts and kiln-fires the ceramic forms, Janja hand-paints them with colorful details, bringing her tiny creations to life. From start to finish, she said the process can take weeks. Bird approx. 4 cm wide by 3 cm high; total necklace length approx. 46 cm. Handmade in Rijeka.
