On this Chinese form, pink to beet-red bracts open in late spring and early summer to 2-inch white flowers, delicately pink-infused. The persistent red bracts with the reddish seed capsules continue to be ornate long after the flowers are gone. Fall color is dark, purple-red; winter shows off finely furrowed bark.
