Robust 8" dissected leaves have pink veins and are crablike in shape, or like a very large bird's foot (as the name might suggest). Pretty white flowers are secreted amongst the leaves July – September. From around 5,000' elevation in the Southwest Chinese provinces, it is much hardier than one would guess, but it would still love a nice blanket of mulch for our Oregon winters since its native latitude is ca. 30 deg. N. Moist, but well-drained rich soils are ideal, not to say that it insists. 1-2' T, W. Minimum temperature: 10° F
