Artist StatementAs tensions rise across the globe, the threat of nuclear warfare grows. It's up to the people of each nation to speak out against this potential life-ending disaster, and as more voices unite, the better chance we have at surviving this trying time. I chose an aesthetic that harkens back to an era that seemed simpler, but had massive undercurrents of similar societal struggles to today. We try to ignore the scariest parts of ourselves, and gloss over issues with bright, cherry advertisements and text, but that doesn't change the gravity of the situation. We must find a way to stop production and remove current nuclear weapons. We must save us from ourselves. — Caitlin Alexander
