Our 3D Clay Characters Design + Stop-Motion Animation camp prepares students with the skills they will need to bring their own visions to life, in a fun and creative design environment.   Whether students are interested in Art, Stage/Character Design, Creative Storytelling or just curious about how Stop-Motion animation works - our camps are perfect for students to get real hands-on experience in the production process of a stop-motion animated film. Our project-based learning style splits the production process into two weeks with a deep dive into the fundamentals of character and stage design, and artmaking, followed by storytelling and video shooting/editing techniques in week two. Instructors and assistants will get our campers ready for a fun, instructional, and impactful week. After making their characters, students will start designing a stage using mix-media and cardboard, to set the scene for their imaginative clay stop-motion animation story. Students will be introduced to the stop-motion animation process and by the end of the week, students will have a series of Minecraft or Pokemon clay characters, a 3D mix-media stage, and complete drawn drafts of their story ideas-ready to be filmed the following week.
