"Leap" a Self Portrait - Polymer photogravure print - Edition 2021
I have been spending much of my time this year working on what is next and taking chances with my work as a photographer and printmaker. Taking a "leap" into printmaking as my new medium of choice, exploring myself, and looking towards the new photographs I want to make. It has not been easy for me in some ways, at the same time I am grateful for the support I have during this journey. I admire the self-portrait work made by my closest friends and felt like making my own self-portrait as I look out to what is possible. I am struck by the intimacy in making this work. This hand-pulled polymer photogravure print is made with Gamblin bone black ink, on Rives BFK paper. I decided on a chine collé with Awagami Kitakata. and an edition of 8 numbered prints and 3 A/P prints. Hand made by Ray Bidegain Limited edition of 8 chine collé 6.00 x 7.25 on an 11x15 sheet. Signed numbered and dated by the artist on the lower front.
