
SEASON CROWNS – Derek Jeter Custom Rookie Art Card 1 of 1
I have always found Derek Jeter very easy to hate, simply for his greatness. As an Angels fan, I found it disgusting that the Angels (and nearly ever other MLB team) celebrated his final game at the stadium in 2014 with a pre-game ceremony and a gift. I can't remember any other active player receiving that kind of treatment and it still baffles me to this day why a team would do such a thing for an opponent. That story aside, Jeter is one of the most collected players in The Hobby and well deserving of his plaque in the Hall of Fame (don't get me started on Phil Rizzuto...). When I found a cheap copy of his Upper Deck rookie, I knew I had to remix it, but I waited until I knew I had a concept that was worthy of cutting it up. I think the result in this case is exactly that; embracing the "less is more" philosophy. This piece ended up looking more like a "real card" than anything I have created so far. The glossy black Flair baseball box made the perfect up for Jack Wilson, allowing th
