Max Size: 6"Description: The Eureka Red Peacock, scientifically known as Aulonocara jacobfreibergi, is a medium-sized cichlid that can grow up to 6 inches (15 cm) in length. This cichlid is also referred to as Freiberg's peacock or fairy cichlid. The Eureka Red Peacock boasts a vibrant red-orange body coloration complemented by blue highlights on its fins and body. Males are typically more colorful and larger than females, characterized by a deep body, pointed head, and a sloping forehead. Aquarium Size and Conditions: Size: A minimum tank capacity of 50 gallons is recommended, with an optimal size being 100 gallons to cater to their territorial nature. Water Parameters: Temperature: Between 76° and 82°F (24° and 28°C). pH: Alkaline water with a pH ranging from 7.8 to 8.6. Hardness: 10–20 DH. Tank Setup: Eureka Red Peacocks require ample swimming space complemented by an array of caves and rock structures to establish territories. Feeding Recommendations: Eureka Red Peacocks are omnivores and have diverse dietary preferences: Diet: A mix of live food, meaty food, worms, and vegetable matter.
