Irish Chain
A few years ago, a dear friend of mine made me a beautiful Irish Chain quilt. With gorgeous fabrics. Of beautiful blues. And ticking on the underside. QUEEN-sized. It truly is one of my most treasured possessions. Since then, I have written a crochet pattern inspired by this quilt, called Irish Chain. It's a modular pattern, featuring a join-as-you-go technique. To test the pattern, I crocheted this beautiful sample using Canon Hand Dyes gorgeous set of mini skeins, glorious colors which beautifully replicate the hues in my quilt. I decided to bifurcate the shawl to give the piece a modern twist. The solid half is the dyer's choice to pair with the mini skeins - a shade called Watermark, which is at times minty green, at others hinty blue. I adore the subtle sophistication to this hue! This scarf is comprised of tiny squares, attached at the corners. The result of this technique is a modern, airy wrap with a beautiful drape. Pair it with a white dress for an evening walk in the summe
