'Tarantula', an experimental prose and poetry collection in a stream-of-consciousness style, was written in 1965–1966. The publishing process was interrupted because of Dylan's motorcycle accident and the first copies appeared in the underground press in the middle of 1965. The first official edition was issued in 1971 only. In 2003 'Spin' magazine published an article 'Top Five Unintelligible Sentences from Books Written by Rock Stars'. Dylan's line from 'Tarantula' came in the first place.The translation was prepared by Maksim Nemtsov (b. 1963), an editor of samizdat rock magazine 'DVR'.
