
Wood Marquetry Tilt Picture Frame with Photo of Hollywood Beauty Circa 1930
A labor-intensive picture frame made with pieces of different colored wood that tilts by means of two brass screws. There is a photo of a lovely woman from the same time period. It is embossed with “Hollywood” and so it could be a screen star that I don’t recognize, or a young lady hoping to be discovered. The back is covered in a dark paper board. The lower left of the photo has an embossed mark that reads “E.D. SWEENEY HOLLYWOOD”. MEASUREMENTS 14 ¼” (31.2 cm) wide x 2” (5.1 cm) deep x 11 ¼” (28.6 cm) tall. Weighs 1 lb 3 oz CONDITION The wood frame is in very good general condition. There are two small chips on the top edge of the back. There is a gouge or scratch on the front of the base. There is wear to the feet. The photo has a nice black and white antique look. The picture frame and photograph evoke the captivating glamor of the 1930s Hollywood era. Of course, you could replace the photo with your own publicity shot for your big break!
