Victorian Fish-Shaped Food Mold Circa 1910
A fun food mold in a design of a large fish that would make a fantastic salmon entree. The light weight molded ceramic dish has been designed with a fish in the bottom to be used in making a culinary dish when turned over. The glaze is off white and is very smooth and shiny. The mold has a raised foot with an indented base. MEASUREMENTS 11 ½” (29.2 cm) long x 4 ½” (11.4 cm) wide x 3 1/8” (7.9 cm) tall. Weighs 1 lb 10.2 oz (740 g) CONDITION The mold has a repair to the mouth rim at the tail. There are three small rim chips at the fish’s mouth. Hairlines extend from the chips and the repair. The foot also has a chip. The glaze has crazing, and the eye and some of the scales have glaze frits. A great food mold to add age and substance to the kitchen, as well as to make a lovely-looking fish dish.
