Plate 498 Common Scaup Duck, Audubon Octavo First Edition

This print has never been cleaned or restored.  Being over 170 years old it demonstrates characteristics commonly associated with its age and usage, such as finger smudges (spoiling) along the margins and the natural discoloring of the paper (toning).  There are a few blemishes or age spots (foxing).  As an indication of these characteristics for this print please refer to the photos. Note - the binding edge that was attached to the book has been trimmed - see photo.  The paper is in great condition with few noticeable marks or spots.  Colors are fresh and bright.  Overall, I believe that this print is in excellent condition.
