Plate 397 Scaup Ducks, Audubon Octavo 1840 First Edition

This print has never been cleaned or restored.  Being over 170 years old it may demonstrate characteristics commonly associated with its age and usage, such as finger smudges especially along the margins (spoiling) and the natural discoloring of the paper (toning).  There are minimal blemishes or age spots (foxing) on this print.  Please refer to the photos. The edge that was attached to the book is untrimmed - see photo.  Overall, the paper is in great condition, generally free of noticeable marks or spots.  The colors of this print are unfaded.  Overall, I believe that this print is in very fine to excellent condition.
