Plate 280 White-Headed Dove or Pigeon, Original Audubon 1840 Octavo

This print has never been cleaned or restored.  Being over 170 years old it demonstrates characteristics commonly associated with its age and usage, such as finger smudges along the margins (see faint finger smudge over left credits) and the natural discoloring of the paper (toning).  There are a few blemishes or age spots (foxing).  This print also exhibits faint text offsetting. Please refer to the photos. The edge that was attached to the book is untrimmed and has retained some of the glue from the original binding - see photo.  Overall, the paper is generally free of noticeable marks or spots.  I believe that this print is in fine to very fine condition.
