'Arithmetic Diptych' Is a large scale dual paneled collage painting and meditation on the color white. The constituent glued on parts include maps, book pages, postcards, framed collage, toe-tags, string, canvas and other swatches of cloth. The surface is heavily textured in a bas relief which accentuates the tactile nature of highlights and shadows. There is no center or “picture” or featured aspect to the composition rather it has the allover focus of a sculpted object. It is designed to suggest an archaeological artifact of cumulative history.
