  RARE SIGNED PAGE FROM THE 1877 NEW YORK STOCK EXCHANGE  - $15K APPRAISAL VALUE ITEM DESCRIPTION: This is one of the most unusual historical documents we've seen found at the Sherry Lehmann office/ store. It measures Approximately 9.5" x 5.5” inches. It appears to be an original page from the New York State Stock Exchange printing office. It has the opening, the highest, lowest, and closing prices of what appear to be approximately 20 of the most popular stocks in the world in 1877. Almost 175 years ago! What makes this truly unique is that it is signed by Charles du Young in back fountain pen. Charles founded the newspaper The Daily Dramatic Chronicle, which became the San Francisco Chronicle, and was its editor-in-chief. The newspaper served primarily the San Francisco Bay Area of Northern California. It was founded in 1865. He was murdered by Isaac M. Kalloch in 1880 (age 34).
