A lieu-dit from the Singerreidel vineyard. The vineyard meets the Danube perpendicularly, giving very distinct expressions from the riverside and hilltop ends. The Rotes Tor (tower of the red gate) stands at the top of Singerreidel's hill. The vineyards surrounding it are fully exposed to hilltop wind, giving pristine fruit character (no humidity to allow for botrytis) and the most lithe, floral expression of Hirtzberger's style. Expect ripe orchard fruit, honeysuckle, and crushed stone flavors with lively acid and a full body packed with extract.
