Axpoint comes from the Achspoint vineyard just across a small tractor path from Hirtzberger's famed Singerreidel vineyard. The main difference between the two vineyards is Achspoint's flatter slope (which still gets as steep as a 51% incline) and richer loess soils. The wines are the Goldilocks wines of Hirtzberger's production, featuring ripe pear, yellow apple and distinct saltiness.
