This is for a single Pom Pom Rooted Macroalgae. Penicillus sp. Common names for this macroalgae include: Bristle Ball Brush, Pom Pom Algae Plant, Calcareous Algae Species, Marine Plant, Halimeda Plant and more. Approximate Plant Size: ~1.5-3+ inches. Shapes, Sizes, and Colors vary. Recommended Lighting: Moderate to higher reef capable lighting, 8-12 hours daily. Recommended Water Flow: Moderate to higher water flow. Description: This is a rooted Halimeda variety originating from the Caribbean and Gulf of Mexico. Rooted Halimeda is a common reference to a variety of species including Shaving Brush, Mermaids Fan, ect. The holdfast (root ball) should be planted into the sandbed about an inch and completely covered with sand. A 1.5 inch Aragonite sand bed is recommended. This species will not thrive in crushed coral or very coarse substrate. After this macroalgae has acclimated to your aquarium conditions and settled, new shoots will come up in the sandbed as it grows. This is a calcareou
