Constructed from a mix of solid and veneered Brazilian rosewood with stunning variegated woodgrains unique to the species this bench features a custom, hand-made seat with full grain leather and a felt-covered underside to allow the seat to slide from end of the bench to the other without causing any scratches. The custom seat, with it's rugged leather, is an homage to the late great Afdal's affinity for incorporating both leather and rosewood in his large body of work.Born in 1917, Torbjørn Afdal was an influential and prolific furniture designer from Norway who helped lead the Scandinavian Modern Design movement throughout the 60's and 70's.
