Description:   Most likely it was during the Great Depression, this one-of-a-kind Tramp Art comb box was hand-crafted, chipped and carved with pieces of found wood and round tack nails.  This style art form was popular from the late 1800’s through 1940's, each being unique in its own way.  This well-detailed piece of folk art features a wood-carved, 6-layered sunburst at the top along with a cross motif in the center. The comb pocket is also very well decorated with a carved and chipped saw tooth design bordering the lip and a variety of applied geometric wood carvings all over.  It was finished with a reddish-oak, brown wash. This wooden sculpture is in good condition with only a few areas of damage.  There is no doubt this beautiful piece of American folk art is a must-have treasure.
