Vintage original signed Edward Norton Ward painting. This small original desert landscape is painted on board in a "plein air" style which is typical of this California impressionist painter. It is signed on the front and titled on the back with the artists name also. A beautifully evocative painting in muted tones which depicts the title perfectly, it is clearly influenced by the western and impressionist artists of the last century. A California native Edward Norton Ward is one of the finest impressionist painters of the California and western scene and paints his works both "plein air" and from sketches he finds in his travels throughout the west. In the studio many of his outdoor works are transformed into larger canvases. He has been adapting impressionist techniques to his landscapes for most of his 50 year career.
