Creating Space: The spacers, typically 1.5 to 2 inches in height, are placed on top of the hive body frames. This creates a sufficient space between the top of the frames and the inner cover to accommodate various types of feed. Placing the Feed: In this space, you can place different types of feed, such as: Pollen patties or feed cakes: These provide protein and nutrients essential for colony development. Spacers can also serve other purposes, such as providing  space for placing varroa treatments.
